Please find attached the England Rugby Training Course 2023-2024 pdf and the England Rugby Referee Award (ERRA) courses in Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire for the 2023-2024 season.

The ERRA courses are currently under-subscribed at a time when we have a need to:

1.       Upskill volunteers who referee Mini & Junior fixtures in a club-based environment

2.       Upskill volunteers who want to consider refereeing as a natural step alongside (or after) coaching and playing

3.       Provide teenagers with an opportunity to sample refereeing as a possible route for them to be retained in the game

4.       Recruit referees in to our Referee Societies to be able to resource the need to be able to provide referees to officiate the upper ends of Age Grade Rugby and adult male & female fixtures

Who could you identify as a possible candidate for the ERRA courses:

1.       Volunteers who currently referee club-based fixtures, but are unqualified (better referee, better game)

2.       Long-term injured players who want to remain involved in the game

3.       Retiring players who want to remain involved in the game

4.       Teenagers (14+) who have the desire to sample refereeing and want to volunteer within the school or club environment

5.       People who have attended the RFU Introduction to Refereeing course and expressed an interest to continue their referee development

6.       An open invite to anyone who might be interested in becoming a referee
